MAJOR PROGRESS

I did a clean install from bare metal on the “backup” server and everything FINALLY appears to be working properly on it.

• Updates are installing properly
• Plugins are working
• The Store software is working

Even better the backup server is much faster than the actual Dell Server on which this is  currently running. The backup server is a standard PC with normal drives rather than a Raid Array drive set. As such there is not as much drive redundancy. I do however have a second identical machine.

As soon as I that second machine is configured and I copy everything over so that it is an active backup I’ll retire this server and switch in the “backup” server as live. Give me a day or two to finish configuring the new backup and it should all be good.

I’ll configure the new machine to do daily backups to the house server and set the second machine to do daily restores from the backups so it will remain up to date and can be swapped in a matter of minutes in the case of a drive failure.
