The 1889 Fourth Edition of The Book of the Farm by Henry Stephens is a six volume set of the 1889 Fourth Edition. Considered by many to be THE definitive book on farming of the early Industrial Age. It covers virtually every aspect of farming from the selection of appropriate land, clearing and preparation of land, selection of crops, plowing growing, pest control, livestock selection and care, harvesting and storage. The book was in print for over 60 years and was probably the most widely known book among farmers.

I haven’t been posting much of anything recently due to my Wife’s medical issues. But I saw this article this morning and had to post the link.

I made a post a year or two ago about the growing rat problem in LA and how nothing was being done to address it. Apparently they are STILL doing nothing about it and it has gotten even worse.

Heck, there are over two dozen books in the Library here going back as far as the 1700s on Pest Control. What kind of civilized society allows it’s city to be overrun with disease parrying rodents and does NOTHING?
