Old Doctor Carlin's recipes: being a complete collection of recipes on every known subject, as selected from the manuscripts of old Doctor William Carlin of Bedford, England together with additions by the American editor on various subjects, embracing also a department for the household of most thoroughly tried recipes, a treatise on bees, a treatise on poultry, etc. : being the latest and most reliable collection of recipes for the farm, the household, the sick room, the kitchen
Old Dr. Carlin's Recipes is one of genre of books published in the 1800s that provided a comprehensive source of formulas, recipes and instructions on how to manufacture everyday items from ink to stain removers to soap and a plethora of other useful substances.
One section of the book has been removed since it dealt with formulas for various health remedies many of which would send shudders down the spine of America's Poison Control Centers. Many of the recipes in that section were quite scary and I felt it was best to not even include those pages. The material is still available in the downloadable copy in the Library for those curious as to how anyone survived the 1800s.
SHIPPING NOTE: I am only shipping these domestically. The cost of shipping books outside the U.S. is just too exorbitant. I'll be making the print set available soon.
